Juniors: (11-13 years old)
The Junior Program at KAMAS is credentialed and sanctioned by the American Tang Soo Association and the teachings of the legendary Grand Master Richard Byrne and reputable ATA Masters. As such, students in this program are guided and challenged in the basic principles of the art as cited by the association and through the dedicated instruction provided by Master King and his identical twin brother Kyo Sa King. Emphasis is placed on enhancing each student’s physical, mental, and social development. Age appropriate fitness drills are intensified at this level of study to enhance the level of physical fitness of all students. Real-world, practical approaches to self-defense are introduced to support the student’s understanding of social values and conduct. The underlining principles of conduct of Tang Soo Do (honesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit) are further solidified within this program and all students quickly assimilate to these virtues, which influence the positive life skills and characteristics of discipline, self-confidence, self-control, and mental acuity. The techniques taught inclusive of all kicks, strikes, blocks, stances, forms, sparring, and self-defense are aligned to the traditional teachings of Tang Soo Do as sanctioned by the ATA. The underline value of this program is recognized through the diligence of Master King and Kyo Sah King to provide individualized attention to each student which is further complimented by the active influence visiting ATA Masters contribute to the student bodies’ journey and growth in the art.
